ARTICLE I - NAME

The name of the club shall be the ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie. (referred to as ICR from this point on)

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE

The purpose of this Club is:

(a) To provide an association for members and guests interested in electric powered (referred to as e-powered from this point on) radio controlled model helicopters while welcoming e-powered model planes.

(b) To promote safety in and enjoyment of e-powered model helicopter building and flying.

(c) To establish, equip, hold and enjoy an indoor facility for flying radio controlled e-powered model helicopters.

(d) To do anything in keeping with the foregoing purposes and, permitted by law, alone or in cooperation with others.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Club membership shall be limited to 5 people.

Prospective new members shall be sponsored by a member in good standing and must satisfy the following requirements:

(a) The person must hold a current AMA license.

(b) Shall agree to the club by laws and field regulations.

(c) Will not result in the club exceeding the maximum membership listed above.

 

Section 2. All applications for membership that meet the requirements of Section 1, shall be voted on by the club officers. He/She will need a unanimous vote of the officers to be accepted into the club.

 

Section 3. Membership shall be valid until resignation in writing, or until membership is terminated by majority vote of the club officers.

 

Section 4. In order to remain a member, each member must renew his AMA membership yearly.

 

Section 5. The Club’s indoor flying facility located at the Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena (referred to as PISA from this point on) will be closed to all flying except during designated sessions/periods, NO EXCEPTIONS. These sessions/periods will ONLY be promulgated on the Club’s official website and are subject to change. The flight line fee for these sessions will be $20.00 per pilot. All membership and visiting pilots who will be flying will be required to pay the flight line fees.

 

ARTICLE IV - STANDARD FIELD RULES

Section 1. All Club members and visiting participating pilots flying Lithium Ion or Lithium Polymer (referred to as LI-PO from this point on) batteries must have the correct safety strong box or ceramic safe with lid for charging purposes. Guidelines for the correct safety containers will be posted on the ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie web site. Examples of the safety containers will be on display during the flying sessions but will NOT be provided. It will be each attending pilots responsibility at each session to be equipped for LI-PO power flying, NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

Section 2. Only e-powered model helicopters deemed safe, by their size and AUW - all up weight - will be permitted to fly during each flying session. E-powered planes will be welcomed and permitted as long as they fit into the size and weight parameters outlined by the Club for these types of aircraft. A complete list of approved e-powered helicopters and e-powered planes will be provided on the IRC - Indoor Camp Ronnie Club web site. Newly released models that may not be on the approved list will be evaluated and decided upon by a majority vote of the Club Officers in attendance per each flying session. A pilots flying ability or skill will not be a determining factor as part of the approval of said e-powered model helicopter or plane, NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

Section 3. All Club members and visiting participating pilots flying at ICR Club field, PISA, for open flying or training sessions will be expected to observe and obey the flight line and safety rules outlined on the ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie web site. Flight line layout and flying procedures will be mentioned and reinforced during the pilots meeting by the Safety Officer prior to each scheduled session.

 

ARTICLE V - WEB SITES

Section 1. The official Club web site is http://www.clubicr.com

 

Section 2. Any individual who wants to set up a web site that includes or focuses on ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie may do so with the following rules.

a. Permission must be solicited from a quorum of members at a normally scheduled Club meeting. Prior to downloading any files pictures or other items from the Club's official web site, except for personal use, the ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie Webmaster must first be contacted and written permission must be received in writing or via e-mail.

b. All ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie related sites must be linked to the official web site.

ARTICLE VI - DUES AND ASSESSMENTS

Section 1. There shall be no initiation fee or yearly dues.

ARTICLE VII- OFFICERS

Section 1. The officers of the club shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Safety Officer. Any of the officers of the Club may perform the duties of the Safety Officer if only one officer is present at a flying session scheduled by the Club.

 

Section 2. Terms of office shall be one year.

 

Section 3. The officers shall perform the duties customary to their office and in particular as follows:

 

President: Presides at Board of Directors meetings, ex-officio member of all committees. The president of the club shall be the ONLY individual who contacts and works directly with the management of the PISA. Any other conversation or agreements with the management will not be considered acting as a part of the ICR club.

 

Vice President: Assumes the duties of President in his absence. Assist and represents the president at committee meetings etc., as requested by the President.

 

Secretary: Keeps a correct record of business proceedings, official membership list, list of committees, copy of By-Laws, conducts correspondence, keeps corporate books and minutes, maintains AMA charter & insurance, etc.

 

Treasurer: Will be responsible for collecting funds for each of the scheduled flying periods and providing payment to the PISA. The club shall maintain a “Petty Cash” fund by the treasurer to cover incidentally expenses. This fund shall not exceed $40.00, in the event that it exceeds $40.00 it shall be divided up among the officers of the club.

 

Safety Officer: Maintains safe flying at the Club flying site, PISA, and promulgate the flight line and safety rules at each of the schedule flying sessions and events. He will be responsible for giving the pilot brief at the start of the event and clearing each aircraft for flight at the field. He has the authority to turn away any craft that he does not feel meets the ICR Club safety rules Article IV Section 2 and 3. Additionally, he will be responsible and have the authority to remove any person not flying within the constraints of the ICR Club flight line and safety rules. He shall enforce the AMA safety code and supervise field layout, flight line, and frequency control.

 

ARTICLE VIII- BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Section 1. There shall be a Board of Directors consisting of the following elected officers: President, Vice President, and Safety Officer.

 

Section 2. The Board of Directors will be the governing body of the club and will make all rules and decision for the club. For all issues that are not specifically addressed in these by-laws, the board of directors shall vote on the resolution which will pass on 2/3 vote of the board of directors.

 

Section 3. Directors will be elected on a yearly basis from a vote from the current board of directors.

 

ARTICLE IX - MEETINGS

Section 1. Regular meetings will not be held. On certain occasion, when a meeting is require it shall be promulgated on the official club website.

Section 2. A majority of the standard club business will be conducted through email and the club website.

 

ARTICLE X - VACANCIES

Section 1. Vacancies in any office shall be filled by a vote from the Board of Directors and can be selected from the current membership.

 

ARTICLE XI - DISCIPLINE AND CONDUCT

Section 1. All members and officers shall perform their duties and obligations in a responsible, competent and reliable manner.

 

Section 3. Any officer or member may be removed from office by a two-thirds (2/3rds) vote of the club membership.

 

ARTICLE XII - AMENDMENTS

Section 1. These by-Laws may be amended or changed as suited by affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3rds) vote of the board of directors.

 

Section 2. Flight line rules and Safety rules may be amended or changed as suited by affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3rds) vote of the board of directors.

 

ARTICLE XIII - DISSOLUTION OF THE CLUB

Section 1. In the event that the ICR - Indoor Camp Ronnie is disbanded and thereby no longer in existence, the assets remaining after satisfying all outstanding debts and obligations shall not be divided among those active members at the time of dissolution, but shall remain in escrow for a period not to exceed six (6) months; after such time the assets of the Club shall be donated to the Academy of Model Aeronautics, a non-profit organization headquartered at 5161 East Memorial Drive, Muncie, Indiana 47302.
