Wondering What's Approved?

 

Approved Models - (Rev. F - Effective Date 12/23/07)

All e-powered models must fall into the APPROVED classifications listed below in order to fly at any ICR flying session. The most current list of approved e-helis and e-planes will be maintained at the club’s website - www.clubicr.com. All pilots are encouraged to review the list on the website prior to each ICR flying session.

In the event that a model does NOT clearly meet the requirements listed below, the ICR Safety Officer will make the final determination for allowing the model to fly at the ICR field. His decision will not be based on any pilots skill or experience level, NO EXCEPTIONS. Your understanding on his ruling, approved or rejected, is both expected and appreciated.

The following models are APPROVED for use during an ICR Flying session.

Micro Helicopter Class

1. Rotor span of less than 24 inches measured tip to tip

2. Maximum total weight of 15.9 ounces (including battery)

3. Maximum power output of 200 watts

4. Maximum 370 class motor (any type)

5. Specific Examples include:

E-Flite Blade CP - All Versions

JR Parkmite

MS Composites Hornet - All Versions

Century Hummingbird - All Versions

Ikarus Piccolo Or Piccolo Pro - All Versions

E-Flite Blade CX - All Versions

Hirobo Sky Robo XRB - All Versions

CoCo Lama - All Versions

Walkera 35

HeliMax Axe CP - All Versions

HeliMax Axe EZ - All Versions

Mini Helicopter Class

1. Rotor span of less than 30 inches measured tip to tip

2. Maximum total weight of 24 ounces (including battery)

3. Maximum power output of 300 watts

4. Maximum 480 class motor (any type)

5. Specific Examples include:

Align T-Rex 450 - All Versions

Zoom Shogun Or Dolphin - All Versions

Ark X400/MX400/MX450 - All Versions

Thunder Tiger Mini-Titan E325

E-Flite Blade 400

Thunder Power Extreme 450 - All Versions

Electric Planes

1. All aircraft must weigh under 16 ounces with battery

2. Any aircraft with a motor larger than a Speed 370 will need to be approved by the ICR Safety Officer

3. Specific Examples include:

E-Flite Series Of Planes To Include: Byp Yak 3D; Ultimate 3D Profile; Tensor 4D; Tribute 3D; Ultimate FX 3D; 54 Yak 3D; Gypsy 370

Ikarus Shock Flyer Series Of Planes

Electrifly Flatout Series Of Planes To Include: Flatana; Cap580; Red Bull Edge; Turmoil; Reflection; RC Universe Bipe

GWS Slo Flyers Series Of Planes To Include: Slo Stick; Tigermoth; Fokker FP

Not To Be Confused With The GWS Park Flyers Series Aircraft - These Are NOT APPROVED.

 

The following aircraft classes/models are NOT APPROVED for flight during ICR flying sessions.

1. Zaggies Or Any Similar Type Aircraft

2. Century Swift Helicopter - All Versions

3. JR VoyagerE

4. Align T-Rex 600 - All Versions

5. Thunder Tiger RaptorE Series E550 and E620 - All Versions

6. Miniature Aircraft MXR Razor 600E - All Versions

7. Hirobo Lepton EX - All Versions

8. Mikado Logo Series - All Versions

9. Any Glow Powered Model

10. Align T-rex 500 - All Versions

11. JR Vibe 500 - All Versions

Per the development and creation of indoor e-powered flying models the ICR Officers have the right to amend these lists as necessary to ensure safe flying sessions without notice. The most current list will be maintained on the club website - www.clubicr.com. Pilots attending ICR scheduled flying sessions are encouraged to check the web site to obtain the most current list of APPROVED models prior to flying sessions.

Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility. If you have any questions or do not understand any of these classifications, don't hesitate to ask any club official or experienced member of the club. Please be courteous, we are all here to make the sport safe and enjoyable. ICR will not tolerate recklessness or rowdiness and unsafe flying at any time during a flying session. ICR has the right to eject any pilot from a scheduled ICR session without a refund for failure to observe the ICR Approved Models listed here, NO EXCEPTIONS.
