Safety And Flying Rules (Rev. D - Effective Date 12/23/07)

The Flying site, Pittsburgh Indoor Sport Arena (PISA) located in Cheswick, PA is operated and controlled by the Indoor Camp Ronnie (ICR) Club and is intended for the express use of ICR members and invited pilots only. All pilots must follow the rules listed below. Any pilot violating the rules will receive one warning; subsequent violation will result in the removal of the pilot from the facility without refund, NO EXCEPTIONS.

General Rules

1. Current AMA card required to fly. NO CARD, NO FLYING, NO EXCEPTIONS.

2. All e-powered models must meet the requirements of the ICR Approved Models list.

3. It is the responsibility of each pilot to ensure that his/hers aircraft is airworthy. All models must be inspected by the ICR Safety Officer prior to taking flight after a crash.

4. All transmitters, including SPEKTRUM transmitters, must be turned into Radio Impound when the pilot enters the facility. The pilot must have his TX and a PIN from the impound facility before he can fly or turn on his TX.

5. Positively NO SMOKING or ALCOHOLIC beverages will be allowed in the facility.

Flying Rules

1. All pilots must obey the prescribed flight zones and activities. The ICR Safety Officer will promulgate the flight zones during the pilots meeting. The types of flight zones are listed in the ICR Flight Zone Descriptions sheet. Pilots must follow the ICR Flight Level Classifications sheet.

2. Flying will not commence until the ICR Safety Officer has completed a safety brief for all pilots in attendance. Any pilot that did not attend the safety brief must read and sign the ICR Safety And Flying Rules sheet prior to flying.

3. Positively no flying or taxing through the designated spectator or pit area.

4. No more than 3 people, including the pilot, may stand at a flight station.

5. Any pilot under the age of 13 years must be accompanied by an adult pilot on the flight line.

Battery Rules

1. Any pilot charging LI-PO batteries at the ICR field must do so in an ICR approved fireproof container. Examples and further discussion of approved containers are listed in the ICR LI-PO Usage And Safety Rules sheet.

2. All charging WILL be done on the concrete floor in the PIT area. Pilots are allowed to use on a first come first serve basis the A/C outlets that are located along the wall.

3. NO charging of ANY batteries will take place on the field/turf of PISA.

4. The ICR Safety Officer will inspect and approve the use of any LI-PO battery pack that has been damaged or been in a crash.

Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility. If you have any questions or do not understand any of these rules, don't hesitate to ask any club official or experienced member of the club. Please be courteous, we are all here to make the sport safe and enjoyable. ICR will not tolerate recklessness or rowdiness and unsafe flying at any time during a flying session. ICR has the right to eject any pilot during a scheduled flying session without a refund for failure to observe the ICR Safety And Flying Rules listed here, NO EXCEPTIONS.
